I am a scent developer with more than 30 years experience working for global companies such as Clairol, International Flavors & Fragrances and Coty Beauty. My expertise is to develop scent for almost any end use out there. I am also very knowledgeable about Fair Trade, natural and organic raw materials and know a great degree on how to source everything from raw materials to packaging.
In 2017, I created Essential Awakenings®Smell and Memory Kits for caregivers, Assisted Living Communities and families as a therapeutical method to help people living with dementia recall memories, and connect to each other through scent. In 2019, I created a more comprehensive multi-sensory tool kit, MindScent® for Speech Pathologists and educators working with people who have learning and speech-communication impairments. During the pandemic, Essential Awakenings® started offering (complimentary) a neuroscientist-developed Smell Training Guide for people who need smell training due to anosmia (lost sense of smell).
