B&W Film - My First Love

KARATARA – A village dying slowly...
The inhabitants of Karatara are humble folk. A decent community rapidly receding as social 'misfits' were modern technology has left them for dust.
I was fascinated how each dwelling occupied the exact 'footprint' as their neighbour, however, no two homes look alike - yes, garden layouts varied, however, every garden-path leading up to the front door was plum centre. I was inspired to document the homeowners, dogs, cats and all else that made up this quaint and almost forgotten village.
I purposefully set my camera at the precise POV for each portrait-session – I needed to carry through the centrality of the 'garden-path' – also, I placed an ornate chair in each set-up – these 'elements' afforded the harmony that 'holds' my collection together/...
(Sadly, on meeting homeowners and learning that a spouse had passed away, I requested the widow cradle a portrait of their lost loved-one – this gesture added sincerity and dignity.)

* Pertinent details are pencilled on the reverse of each handprint.
* Limited editions are autographed and numbered from, 1–5.
* Each Silver-Gelatin handprint displays my unique emboss mark.
* Framing is not undertaken nor, are 'courier costs' included in the price of an original handprint.

I utilise the "ProPhoto AirS Lighting System" to achieve desired 'working-apertures' and as 'fill-light' in shadow details. I often apply B&W Filters for contrasting enhancements, primarily skies. Prime Lenses are a must for all my B&W photography, whether shooting on location or, portraiture.
