About me

I'm an American expat currently residing in Edinburgh, Scotland. I grew up in a tiny town in rural Vermont, and during these formative years, I discovered my great love for the performing arts. A musician from an early age, I have been playing the guitar for fifteen years, and have performed with mutiple groups, with styles ranging from classic rock, ska, jazz, blues, hardcore punk, and heavy metal. It was also during this time when I had my first job: I was a camp counselor for ten years. By the end of my tenure at the camp, I was an all-camp activity organizer, as well as the head of two departments: Court Sports and Field Games. At eighteen years old, I moved to Michigan to study Theatre, Music, and Media Studies at Kalamazoo College. With their theatre department, I added dozens of roles to my repertoire. Theatre took me several places across North America, including Indiana, Ohio, Vermont, and London, Ontario. I also directed a few student productions, was a teaching assistant for a high-level college acting class, designed and built sets, and worked as a dramatourg. I have even worked as a voice actor, a skill I continue to practice. It was during this time I also aquired a love for creative writing. As of now, I have written several screenplays, short stories, and stage plays, and I am currently working on my first full-length novel, as well as a rock musical. After aquiring my BA, I spent two years in the work force, working in the healthcare, retail, and food service industries, residing in both Brooklyn, New York, and my hometown of Thetford, Vermont. Then in 2019, I packed my things and moved to Edinburgh to pursue an MSc in Film Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Not only did the degree improve my research, writing, and team management skills, I was also introduced to a diverse and international community, exposing me to new and interesting perspectives. Now that I have completed my studies, I am hoping to remain in Edinburgh, a city I have grown to love dearly, and continue pursuing my passions.
