About me
Kia ora. I'm an Artist and Alchemist from Taranaki, New Zealand.
I specialise in handcrafted paper collages and regularly exhibit and self-publish my work within New Zealand. In 2019 I co-founded LUMEN Studios & Gallery, an artist-run space where I am a resident artist. As well as being a artist, I'm a spiritual counsellor and specialist in New Zealand Native Flower Essence Therapy. A student of Buddha Dharma and meditation, I'm also an apprentice Buddhist Chaplain trained to support people to pass peacefully.
I've been using collage as a tool for exploring consciousness and deepening self-awareness for over 20 years. My handcrafted collages often explore transpersonal themes and seek to give expression to the universal path of awakening. My artworks are alchemical tools for transmuting consciousness, promoting wholeness and a wholesome relationship with oneself and the world. My creative work is influenced by Transpersonal Psychology, Shamanism and the esoteric traditions including Buddhism and Alchemy. My work is also inspired by the power and beauty of nature.
I studied at Quay School of the Arts of the Arts in Whanganui, where I studied printmaking, silver-based photography, and antique and digital printing processes. I majored in photography and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (with distinction) in 2000. I completed Post Graduate Diploma in Art and Design, Auckland University of Technology (2007).
