About us

Trans Europe Halles is a European based network of cultural centres initiated by citizens and artists. Trans Europe Halles gathers around 50 independent cultural centres in more than 20 countries. Most centres are located in buildings from industrial heritage and all are multidisciplinary and take important action in supporting emerging artists.

Our long-term goal is to strengthen the sustainable development of the independent cultural sector, especially cultural centres and organisations initiated by citizens and artists.

Trans Europe Halles core purpose is to promote arts & culture through facilitating its exchange, making accessible our knowledge and expertise and encouraging new centres and initiatives that share our values.
