About me

My creative practice encourages the pursuit of a personal visual identity with non-traditional, illustrative qualities. Film making is my central practice alongside set and installation design, art direction, photography, prop making, animation, graphic design and sound design. With a strong aptitude for transferring theoretical concepts into moving image, I enjoy taking an experimental approach to making films with a visually thematic emphasis, adapting my style to suit the briefs of a client. I enjoy working collaboratively yet have also had lots of experience working independently, taking on many filmic roles under the pressures of tight deadlines and low budgets. The post production process is integral and I take an experimental approach to editing, transforming the footage to enhance narrative, pace and style. My personal films are the result of a process of understanding perplexing ideas, a way for me to make sense and simplify philosophically complex subject matters through creating fictional, immersive environments.. I'm interested in metaphors, symbols and narrative suggestions that encourage questions, in favour of portraying definite answers. My work reflects an intrigue with the parallel of the beautiful and the grotesque, the element of surprise and also how atmosphere can both reflect and influence emotion.
