Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the role of Junior Copywriter. I am an experienced writer, who managed the website and implemented a range of successful social media campaigns for a global lifestyle publication.

Prior to my return to the UK, I was Web Editor of Time Out Singapore, in charge of the publication's website, social media platforms, online videos, app and newsletter. I was required to work with clients, the editorial team and marketing department while conceiving social media campaigns and promotions. As well as overseeing the daily maintenance of the website, I wrote, sub-edited and managed the posting of all web content and translated the entirety of the print edition onto the online site. I also moderated user comments and created weekly analytical reports tracking the growth of Time Out's social media platforms. For those reports I utilised Excel and used Google Analytics and Hootsuite to generate insights.

The digital strategy I implemented made a 200% increase in social media followers in six months, and a significant boost in website traffic and online newsletter subscribers. Under my management, my team won 'Social Media Campaign of the Year' and 'Integrated Media Brand of the Year' at the 2014 Media Publishers Association of Singapore Awards.

My ability to thrive in a global company was forged during my time as a sub-editor in Reuters. On the global pictures desk, I communicated with photographers and journalists from around the world as I produced well-edited packages under tight news deadlines. I had to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, clarity and grammar on all attached captions, metadata and information, as well as watch out for legal issues.

At present I am a freelance copywriter for a start-up at Google Accelerator and have in the past covered protests for the Indian news network NDTV to lifestyle pieces and the London riots for the Straits Times.
