About me

My total amount of experience amounts to 2-3 years considering all of the internships, freelance work and projects I've taken on over the years. I've been working at NHS Blood and Transplant since September 2016.

An example of producing design work from initial concepts is my start up business, Veri Beri Candles. I began this project at University initially just to demonstrate my branding skills & now 2 years on, this is now an upcoming local business. I had a vision to start my own business no matter how small the idea was, and I've successfully managed to take it to the stage it is at now. I design and create all the candles myself - & have continued to do this whilst studying and then maintaining a full time job which highlights just how motivated and hard working I am. I produce all of these myself to order, and have built up an social following of almost 3,000. This has given me a real insight into marketing, social media & sales first hand as well as demonstrating excellent time management skills between a full time Job and a start up business.

Through out all my jobs I've had to have excellent communication skills reflecting different messages through design. For example - at NHS Blood and Transplant our key idea for Social Media assets which I create is to encourage our following to donate blood or join the organ donor register. Due to the nature of the company, these have to be handled with care, consideration and sympathy at times which I've handled single handedly as the only Digital Artworker in NHSBT. This includes campaign work from Sign for Life, Winter Campaign, Get Your Blood pumping etc.

Nexpaq is a start up company I worked for in Hong Kong which involved a lot of presentation work for pitches to potential investors giving me experience in KeyNote & Powerpoint. This also includes print based presentations such as billboards, banners, posters etc which are used for advertising. The 3 programmes I use on a day to day basis are Illustrator, Indesign and my personal favourite, Photoshop. I've been fluent in these for the past 5 years however with technology constantly progressing there is always new things I'm learning within them.
