About me
The practicality side of Journalism, taught within my masters, was provided by Brighton Journalist Works who help journalists qualify for the NCTJ. For the duration of the course, we were to find suitable news stories, and provide two original news stories for the final assessment. We were taught about interviewing, vox-pop interviewing, layout and design, and the ability of finding follow-up stories.
The experience I've had in the last 6 months, working for GMC Publications has provided me with the necessary skills to do this role well. I have had experienced in proof-reading, liaising with authors throughout the process from start to finish and uploading fresh content on social media and the company's website. Furthermore, I have been working closely with editors, designers and the production team to ensure the smooth running of each of each of the four magazines I worked on.
