About me

I'm an Industrial Designer who studied at the Design Academy
(Academy for Industrial Design) of Eindhoven, the Netherlands. My
professional profile has been formed working at 360° in the
following disciplines; Industrial Design, Architecture, Design/Project
Management, Corporate Identity and Teaching (Marangoni Institute for
Design and Fashion, master course, Milan. Domus Academy, master
course).

After my graduation I moved to Milan where I have been working for the
most prestigious studio's (Luca Trazzi, Aldo Rossi, Piero
Lissoni) and I gained a vast experience as an independent professional
working with local and international industries. Taking initiative to
develop my professional experience has always been an important factor
and my curiosity has brought me to participate in projects of all
kind.

From 1995 until 2009 I worked for the studio of Piero Lissoni, one of
the most prestigious Design and Architecture studio's of Italy.
For this studio I was involved in all phases of the numerous projects
with an emphasis on the industrial and practical development. The
services of the studio stretched from product design, corporate
identity and architecture for brands as Alessi, Kartell, Cappellini,
Flos, Wella etcetera, working in close contact with engineering,
marketing and brand owners. Furthermore I participated in most
architectural projects (housing, factories, hotels and resorts, shops),
interiors, stands and their realisation on site. This experience has
brought me to work with important brands of design and architecture in
Europe.

In 2003 I started also as an independent consultant parallel with a
part time activity at ‘Lissoni Associates', due to a strong
necessity to ‘upgrade' my professional status. In this
period I designed and put into production products for Estel, Frighetto
Industries, Busnelli Industries and others. I designed stands,
interiors, developed corporate identities and industrial projects. A
significant project has been the design and development of the new
identity of the Volkswagen car dealers, in collaboration with
Metadesign of Berlin. After having designed all furniture I've
been asked to coordinate the production as project director in Peking
and Shanghai, working with 4 different local industries. This modular
project has been developed from scratch including the industrial
manufacturing, packaging, transport and building on site, as well as
the handling of it in the post-productive phase. The system includes;
showroom, shop, back-office, bar, lounge and reception.

Even if the project was mend to be for the Chinese dealerships only,
due to its design, functionality and handling it has become the matrix
for the Volkswagen dealers worldwide.

My activity as a design teacher/project leader has given me the
opportunity to develop ideas and concepts in communication and design
methods, referred to branding and industrial design, allowing me to be
in constant contact with new tendencies and materials, also due to the
fact that 95% of the students are from all over the world. For the
Marangoni Institute, an exclusive private fashion and design school, I
developed the master course first and now the basic years, teaching
context- and product-design in the final year. I worked also as a
project leader at the Domus Academy, Milan.

Reassuming: I speak fluently Dutch (mother tongue), English and
Italian, all written and spoken and I speak German. I worked on
projects in Italy, Switzerland, UK, Netherlands, China and Germany. I
like travelling and have no problems speaking in public. I handled
international working groups up to 25 persons and I have a vast
knowledge of industrial manufacturing and materials. I'm used to
work with dead-lines and budgets and to organize visual
presentations.

Concluding: In this phase of my life I am looking for new opportunities
that include all of my experience, working for dynamic industrial
realities/brands that have a strong emphasis on aesthetics and
research. I always enjoy working on large, international and complex
projects, on which I could ‘unleash' my creativity in
design and problem solving. It is my ambition to be part, not only of
the development of products and projects, but also of the development
of a brand as well.
