About Suzanne
I currently work for an in-house design team for an insurance company based in Sheffield. Although I do enjoy my current role I am looking for a more creative position.During my time at Motorway Direct I have worked on a variety of briefs including, insurance booklets and key fact documents, company branding, point of sale and website style. My day to day duties include the general running of the studio, including design, artwork, re-printing and stock dispatch and control.
I deal with various different printers on a day to day basis and have an excellent understanding of print processes. I am used to setting up print job specifications from scratch and preparing a document for print. I enjoy being involved in preparing jobs for print and discussing processes and materials with our suppliers.
Whilst being at Motorway Direct I have been allowed to handle jobs from start to finish. One tender document in particular involved preparing and designing the artwork, sending the artwork on proof to achieve sign off, liasing with our print supplier to order special stock, finishing material and to secure a quick turnaround, and finally getting the final product couriered. This was all required within a week and I also experienced a problem when the product came back from print, which I had to rectify. Although the whole process was quite stressful, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and surprised myself with how well I managed the whole situation.
I enjoy a challenge and I am always willing to push myself that little bit further to achieve an excellent final outcome. I have an outstanding attention to detail and pride myself on the cleanliness of my artwork. I am very keen on using the alignment tools which are provided on design documents and always work to design grid to achieve a very well constructed final piece of artwork.
