Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to you because I have viewed your website and it states that your organisation is looking for a placement student to fill in as a Web Designer. I am highly interested in this role, thus I am seeking to apply for this position. I am a 19 year old student who is currently in second year of my degree studying Computer science at Hertfordshire University. What I have gained skills during my first year of study is being able to program in Java and coding in HTML/CSS using notepad and from there it allowed me to alter websites and develop websites confidently. I have also got some knowledge in JavaScript and JQuery which allowed me to create dynamic webpages using notepad, however I have designed and created a website using Dreamweaver before and I have some knowledge of using Adobe Fireworks . Other than I.T. skills I have gained skills from retailer environment from Debenhams, in which involved working as a stock controller, which involved daily stock intake and stock movement within the store, moreover it involved participating as a team player and achieving tight set goals and achieving deadlines, thus having such skills I believe I am a strong, confident team member that fits your role.
Last year I successfully completed my first year coming out with a 2.2 and with this I have gained knowledge in Java, Flash, SQL, ASP.NET and Web technologies, I have also have experience in graphics and web development where I have designed and create a website for my Fathers restaurant and when it came to graphics I have created a variety of album covers for an artist., due to having such knowledge I believe I can put all these skills into practice for your organisation successfully and confidently.
I have further attached my CV overleaf which states all my skills and key experiences I have gained. I look forward from hearing from you soon.
