About me
I've worked for Rolls-Royce in a variety of creative roles since 1997. I have been extremely lucky to work on a variety of projects with wonderful collaborators. I have a great understanding of a variety of media and technical isuues and some of my favorite projects have integrated these skills. My greatest passion is working with a diverse team to enable the most creative outcomes. Below are some highlights from my creative career.
2001, I was the producer, director and editor of "Extraordinary Everyday Engines". This unique piece was produced as two independant movies that when combined at an exhibition or conference told an entire story but from different perspectives. Technically the movies would be played in sync using two Pro DVD players and a sync box. This project won New York Festivals Gold World Medal for Film & Video in the Corporate Image category.
2003, I was the animator of an educational video called "Simplicity Itself - How a jet engine works". This movie was used to educate people about the technology of gas turbine engines. The production won an IVCA Silver Award in the Educational category.
2022 lead by VML, I was a colaborator and participant large scale awareness campaign about ALS/MND called "I will Always Be Me". We developed a new technology for "Voice Banking" that used a variety of media including web, print, video, app development and a supporting social media campaign. This project was recognized with 8 different awards at Cannes Lions including a Grand Prix Award. We made previously costly technology of voice banking free to anyone living with MND in the UK. This paved the way for this feature being integrated into iPhone.
2025 a small group that I stayed in contact with from the above project colaborated on a piece called "Portrait of a voice". This oil painting by Sara Pope and accompanying video by Witness was intended to raise awareness about ALS/MND. The subject of the piece Yvonne, who is living with MND, kindly posed for her "lips portrait". The supporting video captured the importance of our mouths for expression and speech. The final artwork was auctioned in Aberdeen, Scotland by the Doddie Weir Foundation for a record sum. All of the proceeds will be invested into research into a cure for ALS/MND. A testament to loving life. All of these projects were created by people that love to express their creativity.
