Dear Sir/Madam,

I recently saw the role of Studio/Production Assistant advertised on the Creative Pool website and am very interested in the position. I have a substantial amount of experience in jobs that have required a high level of organisation and confidence in my own ability. I also have a experience in a variety of job roles within the creative industries. I don't believe you will find a more committed and passionate person to fill this job role!

I spent most of last year working at a film production company as a Production Manager. Working closely with the Art Director, I oversaw and advised the construction of a scaled down baroque ballroom for an innovative stop motion music video. In this role I had to be highly organised whilst undertaking a large amount of administrative tasks. I had to manage the scheduling and budget and had to be flexible when unexpected situations arose. I also had to demonstrate excellent communication skills when liaising with companies and contributors over the phone. I taught myself about the techniques and methods of print in this job role, and have continued to improve my knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign.

When production on the music video slowed. I was asked to take on the role of Production Assistant and general researcher on the company's other projects. This included the development of briefs and pitches, image research and the assembling of key assets for the freelance designers and editors. This ability to apply myself to a variety of different tasks meant that my initial fixed term contract was extended to almost a year. It also meant that I saw a number of productions from brief to delivery.

I am a confident person and enjoy establishing relationships with people in the work environment. I am hugely passionate about the creative industries and would love the opportunity to take on a fresh challenge. If I were successful, you would be employing someone with not only relevant experience but also a person with the desire to make an impact in a new work environment.
