About me

My name is Steve Watts,

I received my BA Degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art and

Design (University of the Arts, London). My intention as a designer

Is to create experiences through objects that allow people to have a

More meaningful and interactive relationship with their built

environment. I continually notice myself observing and analyzing the

interaction between people and their objects, and how different

cultures and people express themselves through these materials,

possessions and their environments. I have spent seven years travelling

and living in over 25 countries. In that time I have gained an

in-depth understanding of the way other cultures view the world and

the environment around them. I start my design process with human and

environmental observations within context. Using a combination of

quick and crude prototyping, sketching, still and process photography,

story telling, questioning, experimenting to quickly visualize the

best possible solution. I find this allows for a clearer understanding

to be able to create innovative and thought provoking products.

I have over four years experience in 3D computer modelling (Rhino) and

I have been using Photoshop and Illustrator since 1998. I am currently

learning Dream-Weaver and Flash. I have worked on projects with Kolon Sport (a

Korean outdoor and extreme sports clothing manufacturer), Plastic

Logic (manufacturers of flexible electronic paper), and Natural

Collections
