About me
I didn't take the scenic route into writing. I took the long, winding one with a few unexpected pit stops, questionable snacks, and the occasional "how did I end up here
Before I ever put words to page professionally, I was learning people. Working as a senior support worker meant understanding stories that weren't written down, reading between lines that were never spoken, and communicating clearly when clarity really mattered. It taught me patience, empathy, and how to adapt my voice depending on who's listening, skills that, as it turns out, are the backbone of good writing.
Alongside that, I dipped into different roles that each added something to the toolkit. Problem-solving here, teamwork there, a bit of resilience stitched through everything. None of it looked like a straight line toward writing at the time, but in hindsight, it was more like laying down track.
Then came the shift from lived experience to written word. From freelance pieces to published work with Travel Radar and RedRondo, I started turning observation into narrative, and curiosity into copy. The same instincts remained, just with a keyboard instead of a conversation.
Now, I write with a perspective shaped by real-world experience, not just theory. I understand audiences because I've worked with them, supported them, and listened to them. Every role I've had feeds into how I tell stories today.
In other words, I didn't just become a writer. I built one, piece by piece.
