About me
My background combines over 20 years of experience as an artist, illustrator and graphic designer, working primarily on a freelance basis. This has afforded me the freedom to embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship which is so essential to make headway in the creative industry. I have been the driving force behind a diverse range of ground up projects including: vintage restoration, property development and music marketing. It has been my privilege to collaborate with highly skilled and creative teams of people from various backgrounds such as, art, design, music, fashion, landscaping, engineering and architecture. In a recent collaboration with 'The Midnight Toys' rock band, we took full advantage of developments in technology and the opening up of the online music industry to grassroots talent. Achieving sales in the UK, Europe, Australia, Russia and the U.S.
I am very eager to pursue new creative challenges in a more formal context. Engaging in a client focus projects, in a fast moving environment... Enormously exciting!
As someone who comes from an old farming family in North Devon, with a sense of community, a love of people, and the environment; the personal, from the heart approach has always been key to my ethos as a creative professional.
How as a Graphic Designer do I keep my artwork fresh and creative
I have a passion for thorough research. I loved to absorb myself in the history of a brand, whilst exploring current trends sympathetic to the established indentity. Great design happens where the past and present meets the future. I like to take the journey, to find the next step right in front of me.
What is my biggest challenge as a Graphic Designer
Communication. Who knows what someone else thinks or feels, how they may see something, how their knowledge might colour their point of view
I believe the successful design isn't successful because it's mine, it's successful because it's everybody's.
