About me

I have enjoyed varied work experience on many professional projects whilst completing my degree and working on my masters. In most of these job placements I have taken on an organizational role but also have other relevant industry skills.

- An understanding of both Final Cut Pro and Avid Xpress Pro.

- Experience in operating a camera at live events.

- The ability to work to a tight schedule.

- Expansive knowledge of screenwriting mechanics.

I have pursued my passion for film and television at 'Southampton Solent University' completing a BA Hons Degree in 'Film and Television Studies'. Where I directed and co-wrote a screenplay for a short film giving me an understanding of the collaborative process and how a script is translated to film and I completed a feature length screenplay for my final dissertation. I continued my film education at a four-week digital filmmaking course at the 'New York Film Academy', Los Angeles where I produced, wrote, directed and edited three short films using Final Cut Pro. This gave me the opportunity to work to tight schedules and mix with various filmmakers from around the world. I moved onto 'Thames Valley University' to study an MA in 'Creative Screenwriting'. Where I have increased my understanding and knowledge of storytelling and completed a short comedy script, a one-hour television series episode and a feature screenplay. In spare time I have also produced, written, cast and directed two short films of my own, which I edited on Avid Xpress Pro. This gave me an immense respect for all aspects of filmmaking and a greater understanding of the entire process.

I have enjoyed experience in the media industry as well. Working as a production coordinator on a promotional video produced by KMB Productions, gave me an understanding of the administration and organizational elements of media production. I took on the role of producer of mini-feature directed by a professional director, which gave me an understanding of one of the key roles in filmmaking and immense respect for the organizational elements of the job. I worked in live entertainment being a regular camera operator and team leader for Saints TV (Southampton Football Club). This gave me experience with the PDP 150 and the knowledge of how to organize a camera team for a live event. I also took on the roles of cinematographer and camera operator for a guitar tuition video which I edited using Avid Xpress Pro. This experience gave me further understanding of the various roles within the production team. I have produced an episode of Gaze TV, which gave me an insight into how digital media is produced for internet distribution. More recently I have taken on the role of runner for two music videos for Visual Abuse giving an understanding of how music video is created and how to work to a tight schedule.

My other passion in life is football as a player for two local teams at the weekend and I also take part in a five-a-side league in the evening. I go running everyday and also attend the gym. I work in a local bar at the weekends to fund my education and attend the cinema as often as possible.
