About us
Our client is looking for a Technical Illustrator to be responsible for the production of work instructions for safety critical maintenance tasks that are accurate and easy to understand with photographs and technical diagrams to illustrate technical processes as necessary, within project timescales and quality standards and with input from the relevant technical authors, subject matter experts and front-line staff.
Key Accountabilities
To cut and paste the work instruction from an MS Word or MS Excel template (provided by a technical author) into a pre-determined Adobe Indesign template and link to associated documents. Ensure it is to the required format and style and create a PDF version of the file.
To edit and enhance photographs to improve their quality.
To produce clear, consistent and accurate illustrations of safety critical maintenance tasks for inclusion in work instructions.
To work with Technical Authors to ensure that high quality work instructions with illustrations and photographs are produced.
To build capability within the Management Systems team to enable them to produce and amend work instructions and associated illustrations after the project has been completed so that work instructions can be kept up to date with changing technology and practice.
To ensure that the completed work instructions, photographs and illustrations are saved in the correct location, in the correct format and with a correctly allocated number.
To refine and improve the format and style of the work instruction template as required.
To be based at Broadway, St James’s Park but may be required to work at various locations across the London Underground network.
