About me

I would like to thank you for your interest in considering me for your position. I hope you find my CV useful, but would like you to also look beyond that because it could never fully describe my assets. I am a confident person and project this confidence in my work. I enjoy challenges and do work well, sometimes even enjoy pressure.

I have done various pieces of design work for a local events promotions company. This includes flyers and poster design for on-going events as well as chairty events. I have also designed this sort of promotional material for bar chain Pitcher and Piano. Most recently, I have designed the front cover for socialite magazine DV8 (*). I have a good relationship with the editor, and will be doing more work with them in the future.

I have had hands on experience doing freelance work and have a drive to work within this field. This, along with my marketing background has taught me a good knowledge of buying print advertising space, promotional techniques and the essentials of networking within the industry. This, I feel will ensure that I have a positive impact and any new skills and experience needed will be processed in a very short amount of time.

I enjoy modern urban culture which I use as inspiration for my design works (as outlined in my CV). For this I use Photoshop, and have extensive knowledge of the programme. I try to use images and designs which will make the reader think deeper about what they see, therefore creating a better impact. Because I am fully aware of the advertising saturation, and do not want my work to merely fall on top of the pile with everything else.

I want to have the chance to increase a company's profile by having an input on what the consumers see and where they see it. I feel that I have a good empathy with consumers in general, allowing me to have a good perception of how adverts or campaigns will be effective.

I am very broad minded, and like to think outside of the box. I have good common sense as well as academic knowledge which I can apply to situations to solve problems.

As briefly stated in my CV, I have been a DJ for many years. This is not a small hobby, but a long term job where I work week in week out in major venues in front of hundreds of people. Although this may not directly be a skill related to your company, I feel it is a statement to my confidence, ability to lead, consumer empathy and self management.

I feel that I could be an asset to your company, bringing experience from a different background, new ideas, and a hard working ethic.
