About me

I am applying for this post with great interest and enthusiasm. I am currently pursuing my Masters with Kingston University in collaboration with the Design Museum, London in Curating in Contemporary design. I am due to finish my course by June 2013.

I currently work as a casual worker with the Design Museum, London as a gallery assistant and front of house staff. The role involves gallery invigilating as well as taking care of all front of house duties such as assisting tour groups and educational groups in having an enjoyable and rich educational experience, looking after ticketing and ensuring the overall enjoyable customer experience for all that enter the museum. I would like to expand my role as a more customer focussed administrator as I do have previous relevant experience in a similar role. I have worked previously in an event management role for a social enterprise in London, selling conference spaces to corporate clients. My general duties included providing front of house customer service to conference clients which included major charities across the U.K., the N.H.S and government organisations. I was responsible for all logistics and operational requirements such as catering, travel, managing budgets to ensure a comfortable experience. I had to constantly work on RENDEZVOUS; a hospitality package system to book conference rooms, MS access and excel to update the client database and MS Outlook. The role was fast paced with tight schedules and deadlines. Team work played an important role as well as working across various departments through constant and continuous communication. The role also presented often an opportunity to work on my own which I am confident in handling once the task has been assigned.

I am keen on working on projects focussed on social networking and online content management are a key focus as well as working on retail and commercial projects. I do have relevant previous experience in income generation through active sales and marketing and hence am confident that I can effectively contribute my skills and knowledge to prove an asset. I am also keen on learning new skills and adapting to new challenges with the role. Thank you for your consideration.
