About me

I am soon to graduate from my BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts with Recorded Media specialism from Bath Spa University. My training during the first two years was predominantly performance-related, with modules in classic and contemporary theatre, comedy, dance and movement, stage combat and contextual studies related to the texts we were studying. This demanding two years of theatre training was backed up by a strong portfolio of written work, examining texts and research surrounding the productions. This encouraged me to be resourceful and find something original- developing my eye for detail.

In the third year of study, I chose to specialise in Recorded Media, where I studied Film & TV Production. This training involved learning about the UK and global film industries, film history and acting for the camera. We were also introduced to practical filmmaking and completed two short films, of 20 minutes and 40 minutes. I wrote the screenplay for the first film, which developed my skills in timekeeping, self discipline and computer literacy. I am a fast typist, often touch-typing. My screenplay was considered exceptional and the films can be viewed on the Bath Spa Music and Performing Arts website.

The second film, completed in early May of this year, was produced by myself. Producing our thesis film involved location scouting, which called upon my good knowledge of Bath and Bristol by car and my resourceful nature in meeting with various companies to find locations. I also managed the budget which gave me good experience in handling money and expenditure. Filmmaking has generally improved my team-work skills and developed my initiative- to research, make contacts and get the job done efficiently. I also enjoy administration tasks and spent large amounts of time at my desk as well as out location scouting or in meetings.

I hold a positive, conscientious approach to my work and have a friendly, confident phone manner. I am also an active social networker and appreciate the benefits that a web presence can have for a company. I have a hands on experience on film sets and have a good understanding of the filmmaking process. I am a strong writer and produce short articles regularly for my blog. I am inquisitive and helpful, and love to work front of house as well as behind the scenes. Being a native Bristolian I also have a good knowledge of my city and hold a clean driving licence.
