About me
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Stacey Jenkins and I am a web/graphic designer. I write in response to your job advertisement on creativepool.com for a graphic designer. With a considerable interest in all aspects of the creative industries, I believe that my skills and previous experience would help me to make a real contribution to your company. In addition to my attached CV, please feel free to Google me or have a look at some examples of my work on my website at staceyjenkins.co.uk.
I have been working as a multimedia designer for RM Education. Within this role, I generated graphic assets for a wide range of campaigns for RM Education's products and services, including online material (websites, customized product pages for their online shop, questionnaires, web banners and interactive webpages) and print material (flyers, posters, wall planners, print advertisements and product factsheets). I also corrected errors in online content and helped staff members with the creation of new content. I designed the main brand visuals for two large scale campaigns for RM Education. The firs was for RM's broadband pitch called the Broadband Agenda, for which I created a visual style that echoed across webpages, online web banners and questionnaires, generated £5million in leads. I additionally created the entire visual concept for the Budget Challenge, a highly ambitious scheme which aimed to save RM's customers 70% on the cost of school services and quoted just over £3.5m in savings at the BETT show, a large scale exhibition about the latest in education technology.
Before being employed at RM Education, I had been working as a freelance designer with 12 months experience in the industry. In this time, I've recently been working for Turtle Promotions, a music promoter based in South West Wales. I have developed promotional material for the company and an extensive branding programme which extended over social networking websites and also onsite at events and gigs in the Llanelli and Swansea area. The promotional posters create and distributed around the area increased the amount of visitors to the gigs and spread more awareness of the bands and also the brand across South West Wales. I have also worked as an intern for Urbanaut in Oxfordshire developing a promotional iPhone application for Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show in Birmingham's NEC arena. I prepared company logos for the on-screen display as well as taking initiative to organise the information within the company database with a keyword system thus increasing the efficiency of the application and reducing production time for the app. I am also a keen illustrator in my spare time, inspired by the bold character of Western animation, the dynamism of Japanese manga and the vibrant colour of contemporary comics and graphic novels.
Through these projects, I have developed excellent communication, writing and organisational skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks at any one time. I have also obtained specialist knowledge and experience of several creative software programs including Adobe's Creative Suite. I have gained growing experience in web development and design, including HTML, CSS, PHP and jQuery. Furthermore, I have a passion for all creative fields from film, television, photography, animation, music and literature as well as design and illustration. I can assure you that my passion for the industry and my experience to date make me an ideal candidate for this role.
