Sophie's work
About Sophie
I am a published writer and have interesting professional experience but what makes me unique is my broad spectrum of life experience: from caring for my sick mother to smartening up my look, from organising political protests to getting over an eating disorder, I have sailed through many serious challenges, not to mention many superficial ones.My current writing projects include: being deputy and culture editor at The London Word (*), getting a short story published through the East Dulwich Writer's Group, helping the author T.C Lea research a life philosophy book and writing my own book, a light-hearted look at mental illness, an area which is too often shrouded in extreme seriousness and fear. These projects are creatively rewarding however one cannot eat a creative reward and I am looking for any paid employment within the field of journalism. I am educated to degree level and have a high intellectual ability that presents in my ability to listen, understand and recall important facts. I can withstand pressure and think clearly and independently in even the most difficult situations. I learn new tasks quickly and put a lot of thought into my work relationships. As well as the journalistic experience (which is detailed on my CV) I am comfortable with administration due to having worked in customer services and temped in secretarial roles.
