About me

I am an artist that creates contemporary paintings and public artwork. I create unique artwork by enhancing certain colours in an image and using thin brushes to apply thick paint in intricate marks to create an abstract pattern. This pattern is only apparent when viewing the painting up close, whilst the image becomes realist when viewed from a far. I take inspiration from contemporary artists like Chuck Close and Gerhard Richter. Their use of processes create an image that can be interpreted in so many different ways, they are never simply abstract or realist.

Skills

Sector Experience

My internship at the Fish market Gallery in Northampton helped me gain experience of working in an established gallery developing my communication, organisation and creative skills and giving me a real insight into what it takes to put on successful exhibitions. My role included setting up, and dismantling exhibits, interacting with public, invigilating the work on show and designing displays for the gallery itself. , I ran an art group for mentally and physically disabled clients at Northampton councils Nene care centre. I had the responsibilities to form, organise and carry out sensory art sessions with the clients at the centre that will stimulate their creativity. In this role I developed organisational, communicative, co-ordination and problem solving skills. I found this experience extremely satisfying as I was relied upon to work as a team and independently to create an environment in which the client’s experienced the therapeutic values of art.
