About me

Good evening,

I'm Sofia Sita, an Italian graphic designer now based in Dundee.

I saw the job advert for the position of senior designer on creative pool website and it interests me greatly. The description fits my primary interests and I think I can qualify quite well for this position.

My education is based on graphic design and illustration; as a matter of fact I recently graduated with the highest grade from my master in "Editorial illustration" at the "Accademia di Belle Arti" in Bologna, Italy.

Here I got an extensive education on method on make layouts, print techniques and photography, make computer animations and books. I am confident in using most of the Adobe software: Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, After Effect and Premiere. I am comfortable with Mac OSX as well as Windows.

Good communication and listening skills are paramount for a graphic designer, and I excel in both verbal and written communication. I am a team player to the core, but am also at complete ease when working alone.

I am confident I could represent a successful and creative designer.

During my academic career I got involved in several art contests that spaced among different topics. This active participation shows my determination, my involvement and my ability to manage a personal project.

Every time I start a project I try to find the most original, creative and useful idea.

Manage and deliver several projects on a short deadline/budget was quite common. Identify and pursuit the most suitable and successful solution was essential and I learned how to organize my materials, my time and myself to endure the stress and the different tasks.

I had the chance to develop as well sales and problem solving skills during these practical experiences, in order to understand and satisfy customer's or judge's requests.

Hard work under pressure is nothing new; I have successfully concluded my projects before the deadlines many times during my university experience and my participation to artistic contests. What helps me most during these situations is to plan ahead, divide my total workload in smaller part and prioritise them.

Thanks to few practical experiences, like my position as assistant at the publishing company "Topipittori", I became a good team player. I like to work in group across all phases of a project, both in leading or supporting roles.

I have extensive experience in taking or challenging creative briefs and in handling client needs and expectations. You can see it on my results of final exams or also on my results of contest where I participated.

I would appreciate greatly the opportunity to make a substantial contribution by exploring the business of applied art through your design firm.
