About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am contacting you regarding the Junior Copywriter position currently advertised on the Creativepool website. I am a Masters graduate based in the Manchester area looking for full time work where I can utilise my developed skills in an exciting industry.
Holding both an Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree in Psychology, I have developed extensive skills in writing both essays and presentations. As part of my postgraduate dissertation I carried out my own research into the field of counselling in secondary schools through in-depth interviews. Conducting this process also taught me to work quickly towards a deadline by carefully planning my work.
I also have experience in writing blogs online in the style of both news items and opinion pieces. This role required me to find unusual topics and write with a style specific to my experience, which in turn has allowed me to develop my own personal flair for writing. I have most often written about social media relating to issues in psychology. For example, I recently wrote about how websites such as Facebook have changed the way in which self-esteem works. This experience has given me excellent skills with regard to editing my own work and being able to tailor my copy to specific demographics.
Further to this, I am currently working as an intern at a Manchester based marketing agency. In my role I am shadowing the company's copywriter in order to formulate a comprehensive social media strategy for one of their clients. This experience has also seen me create content for this plan which has taught me to use various online platforms and has allowed me to work cohesively as a member of a larger team.
I am looking for a career where I can utilise my current skills but where I can also develop and progress. As a confident individual, I feel my existing experience along with my background in education has provided me with the skillset needed for the role on offer.
