About me

I am a graduate of Cardiff University where I studied Journalism, Film and Broadcasting. I am currently employed as a web content administrator and copywriter for Marks & Spencer. I have been developing a freelance writing portfolio through articles published both online and in magazines and am now looking to obtain a full time writing or editorial position.

I have honed my writing skills producing copy for the Marks & Spencer website. Alongside my copywriting I have also developed excellent journalistic skills through my academic studies and by writing news articles for the Cambridge-based legal services company; Work Place Law, and as a contributor to Liverpool's Live magazine. I have produced a range of work including written previews, reviews and conducted interviews.

Having produced copy for media production-company Big Head Media's website I understand how important producing concise and succinct copy is. I have an excellent knowledge of current affairs reading national and local newspapers daily.

Working for Marks & Spencer I supply clear and concise copy across a range of brands each with their own styles and tone. I believe the wide range of writing work I have undertaken have enabled me to develop a varied and versatile writing style.

I am an excellent communicator in both spoken and written word and am quick to develop good working relationships. As a member of a newly formed team working on the Marks & Spencer website I was quick to develop excellent relationships with colleagues.

I have learnt to deal with the pressure of meeting deadlines and working in a fast paced work place and developing the ability to prioritise my workload to deal with a variety of tasks at the same time.

I am a confident IT and have a good knowledge of internet content management systems due to my work with Marks & Spencer. I am hard working, diligent and reliable. I work well as a member of a team earning the respect of my colleagues whilst also working with confidence on my own. I have an excellent attendance record having taken only three days off through illness in the past five years.
