About me
I am currently studying for my Master's in Multimedia Journalism, where I am learning to work across the industry, with modules focusing on writing for newspapers and online outlets, broadcast modules teaching us skills for TV and radio, as well as media law classes. Previously an undergraduate student in Politics with Economics, this degree has improved my research and analytical skills and helped me to develop personal skills, including public speaking. During this time, I was involved with the university magazine, in which I had several articles published. In addition to this I have undertaken a work experience placement with a PR consultant, which has further improved my communication skills, as well as my writing and social media skills. I have also undertaken a work experience placement with a BBC TV news program where I was working with journalists and editors and have shadowed journalists at BBC EMT and Hits Radio. Previously I spent over 3 years working for a duty-free retailer on board cruise liners. Within this role I had the opportunity to travel to over 80 different countries and was able to meet people and gain experiences that would have not been possible elsewhere. I have always been keen to start a career in the journalism industry. Having gained these life experiences over the last few years, I now feel I am in a perfect place to begin a career in this field.
