About me

I am looking to gain a position that I feel I can gain valuable experience and a long career with. I currently am working in an Artworker role with the Branded Team at VCG Kestrel in Witham.

Within my role, I create printable artworks based on designs supplied by various design houses to the company. I alter and edit the files to ensure that they will be printed as close to the supplied files as possible. This becomes more challenging when supplied files haven't taken the guidelines supplied by printers into consideration.

I have to swap in and out of several different brands within the account such as; Goodfellas, Fox's, Cheestrings, Richmond and many more, all whilst maintaining each brands individuality. I work as part of a team to ensure that ranges are consistent with each other. I have also worked on the Tesco account and as part of the team that worked on the relaunch of Nettos in the UK. I use Adobe Creative Suite on a daily basis, with the main program being Illustrator.

I previously held a Creative Artworker role with the Marketing Team at Spicerhaart in Colchester, although this was a fixed term contract. Within my role, I created adverts and other media for use over several platforms including large format. I worked on magazines, both layouts and individual adverts for different publications. During my time at the company, I was the main artworker used to put together the property pages for each issue of Locate magazine. This role had me working closely with the Digital Marketing team, creating media and images for their use online. I had to swap in and out of several different brands within the Spicerhaart family, all whilst maintaining each brands individuality. I used Adobe Creative Suite on a daily basis, although the main programs I used were InDesign and Photoshop.

I was previously the sole designer at a lifestyle magazine based in Essex. I created and designed the layouts and pages for each new magazine that came out, whilst trying to keep a uniform style with each magazine. I also developed and created adverts for several businesses on a regular basis as well as those who advertised in the magazine. I was required to remain in contact with the printer and ensure that deadlines were met and adhered to. I had worked on photoshoots, sourcing the outfits and managing the wardrobe. I pitched ideas for features and worked alongside the features department to generate material. As the only in-house designer, it was my responsibility to upload and create content, administrate, manage and design elements for the websites. I also created graphics for online companies as a link to our own sites. I have a basic understanding of SEO and can work Google Adwords. I have worked as part of the Digital Media department also, as a Digital Media Executive. I helped create and build websites, as well as design elements to be included on them.
