Cardboard Engineer - POS Role

Dear Straco International Recruitment Specialist,

I am writing to you in response to the advertisement for a Cardboard Engineer - POS, posted on Design Week on 19th July 2011.

I am an East London based 3D/structural CAD Designer with a degree in Furniture Design from London Metropolitan University awarded in 2010. Since my graduation I have worked on the design and manufacture of my product, Reggie the Eco Rocker, a flat-pack cardboard rocking horse, in addition to work for a range of clients which includes retailers, museums, creative businesses and individuals, specialising in structural design with cardboard (including bespoke POS and FSDU design).

Having worked for myself since graduation, I am now seeking a role that will see me target my experience in structural design for cardboard, an area in which I have grown to specialise, whilst at the same time allow me to work as part of a team.

Working to commission for my clients, I have demonstrated my ability to work independently from brief through to production and, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, I am confident and at ease communicating directly with clients.

My CAD skills include Rhino 3D (advanced level), Solidworks, 3D studio Max and AutoCad and I have a wealth of experience in preparing files for compatibility with Kasemake and various CAM software. In addition, I am also proficient in Adobe CS3 as well as the Microsoft Office suite and am equally proficient across Mac and PC platforms.

Whilst recognising that my background is somewhat unique to this industry, I feel I present an equally unique opportunity to the organisation to benefit from my creative approach to POS design and awarded innovation for design with cardboard.
