Dear Sir or Madam:

I am a university graduate having recently completed Bsc (Hons) Product Design Engineering (June 2012) at Edinburgh Napier University looking to obtain a graduate engineering position. I have experience working for engineering and manufacturing companies and I have obtained a degree classification of 2:1.

I would like the opportunity to get involved with a company that shares my passion for the design and engineering process. Through my degree I have developed an enjoyment and an ability to generate solutions to engineering and design problems. In particular the connection between the functionality aesthetics and materials of a product: an area that I investigated during my honors project which was to design an electronic wine cooler.

From traveling to many countries I have seen and experienced different cultures and the problems people can face on a daily basis. Solving these problems through design engineering excites me. I have achieved highly during my university degree in particular being selected as one of two people in the UK to travel to Switzerland to attend a week long design school hosted by lecturers from Stanford University, California.

I look forward to contributing my skills and enthusiasm for engineering design with a company that is also passionate in finding engineering solutions.
