About me

I am a 21 year old, who has recently graduated from the University of Central England, Birmingham where I was studying BSc Engineering Product Design.

I studied product design at 'A' levels. At school I was particularly interested in the history of design as well as the relationship between product design and the market. I received a letter of commendation from Bic in response to a design idea for a mouldable pencil that I sent to them. I also studied graphics design at this stage which helped develop my creativity and innovation for design ideas

At university, I have learnt about different materials and their manufacturing processes. I have also been exposed to the business aspect of design which has practical influence on design development and product marketing. I have learnt about and practised different techniques for creative thinking such as 'the 6 hats method'. I have learnt how to use and make designs with a CAD program called Catia which is being used in industry today. I also know how to use design programs such as True Space, Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop.

My practical design projects include a multi-head building tool for a rural developing world environment. I also re-designed play ground equipment including a round-about for disabled children. For my final year project I have decided to re-design the coach seat to make it more comfortable to sit and sleep on.
