About me

Hello, my name is Sebastian Rye. Thank you for visiting my profile: hope you enjoy my work! I am living and working in Bristol, determined to become a full-time artist and do what I love every day.

About my artwork:

Each piece of artwork is constructed loosely and quickly at first, allowing for the initial drawing to come alive with spontaneity. The finer details are then added at a more focussed pace, before bold colour and shading are meticulously applied to create depth and tone.

"I see each image broken up into separate shapes; layered onto or next to each other until the final sketch is created. Drawing quickly on the iPad means some of these shapes can become exaggerated, which adds to their overall energy and charm. I love working quickly at first, then going back and adding the small elements and details which enhance the viewer's experience."

My experience to date includes producing numerous successful greetings card runs for Whistlefish and exhibiting my work multiple times at the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art in New York.
