ABOUT
This illustration features the Okinawan rail (ヤンバルクイナ), an endangered bird native to the Yanbaru forest in northern Okinawa. I was born in Okinawa, and wanted to create an illustration connected to this beautiful island, ecology, and environmental heritage, and highlight this amazing avian creature specific to this the region.
The rail has evolved for a closed ecosystem. Today, development, habitat fragmentation, invasive species, and infrastructure have reshaped that environment, placing the species at risk.
I love creating illustrations for environmental, cultural, and educational contexts including conservation projects, museums, public institutions, exhibitions, and ethically driven merchandise.
I’m particularly interested in collaborations that use visual storytelling to communicate biodiversity, ecology, and conservation in meaningful, accessible ways.
Industries I have worked with include: Health & Beauty, Skincare, Cosmetics, Lifestyle, Health & Beauty, Food and Beverage, CPG, Wellbeing, Luxury, Consumer Products, Hospitality, FMCG, Packaging, Entertainment, Fashion, Retail and Commercial, and more.
My past clients have included: LG Electronics, Kiehl’s, Marks and Spencer, Transport for London, OLAY, Spyder, Adidas, Harrods, Vita Coco, Honi Poke, Heineken, Pacifico, Beefeater, Google, Lush, Universal, Monocle, LEGO, The Guardian and more.
