About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sean McCormick and I am a 26 year old Australian. My long-term goal is to become a Post Production Specialist in Television and Film.
Upon completion of my Bachelor of Communications degree at the University of Newcastle, I lived and worked in Los Angeles for more than two years undertaking many projects to help build my skills. Some of these included:
* Feature Length Documentary 'PIONEER: Search For A Cure' - Director / Camera Operator / Editor * Feature Film - 'Way Down In Chinatown' - Post-Production Coordinator / Editor / Sound Recording / Sound Design / Mixing
* Live, multi camera music shoot for the Ford Motor Co. with legendary producer Don Was (The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, etc...) - Director / Camera Operator / Post-Production Coordinator / Editor
Having just finished a return visit to my family in Australia, I am now in the UK to continue what I have defined as my "apprenticeship".
I am self-motivated, hard working and able to work autonomously. During my employment in Los Angeles, I also developed core skills that enabled me to problem solve on a regular basis. Central to this experience was working to deadlines, which provided exciting challenges both individually and as a team member.
While I have built on the skills I gained at University via various projects, my next step is to seek out mentors and a strong training ground that will lay the foundations for a long career in my chosen field.
Having an interest in comedy and music, many of my own projects come under these genres however are not limited to these two areas. I am keen to get as broad experience as possible and would love to be involved in anything from Nature documentaries through to Television Soaps.
I have a British passport so am able to start work immediately and continue work as required.
I would welcome the opportunity to forward my Resume or alternatively, meet with you and discuss potential projects that may become available in the near future.
Kind regards
Sean McCormick - *
