About me

I am writing to express my interest in a graphic design position placement. My name is Sean Leong and I have recently graduated from LCC in graphic design. I am interested in a career in graphic design and the creative industries and would like the opportunity to work for a company to gain insight into the industry. I feel I would bring enthusiasm and imagination to the creative team. My work is ideas based and concept orientated coupled with lots of humour.

I enjoy mixing and playing with ideas. For example as with the project "Babel in a bag", I wanted to use the popular game jenga and "toys in a bag" idea to illustrate the numerous languages spoken in London. The idea of Babel was used to ironically compare it to the capital's growing diversity. Another example is project "versus", this was a book I made challenging the way we read. The intention was to make a hand held video game that required no batteries but with a storyline and narrative made by the opposing participants, red and blue. A third example is an illustration for a record cover for the musician bjork with a lateral thinking solution to illustrate the slightly abstract chorus of her song "all is full of love"

Not only would I bring creativity, but also good communication and organisational skills. During the 3 years of my degree course I have learnt to be resourceful and work in a team, collaborating across graphic design disciplines and specialisms. Attention to detail has been a requirement for my degree course subject, as is self-management, planning, meeting frequent deadlines and completing various projects. My illustration course has taught me to use my initiative to exceed the boundaries of my chosen specialism, often producing work from the photography, 3d or screen-printing studios.

I am currently doing a work experience with Foxall Associates and gaining experience of live, commercial projects.

I would relish working and gaining more experience in the industry and hope I would bring unrivalled passion and hard work.
