I've seen you are currently seeking a Creative Director and would like to put myself forward for the vacancy.

I work on S Magazine (the colour supplement for the Sunday Express Newspaper) where I am the Art Director, a position that I will be leaving in the new year.

I work on a variety of features including fashion, interiors, lifestyle, travel and beauty. I am involved in the art directing of the majority of the shoots and have a close relationship with the photographers whom I work with. Over the last few years, in addition to the running of the art desk and design and publication of S Magazine, i have also managed, art directed and designed various additional topical supplements including ones on travel and spa destinations, the Royal wedding, and the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

I am fully responsible for the creative content of the magazine. Other responsibilities include commissioning of illustrators, liaising with photographers, delegating of work to junior members of the design team, working closely with the lifestyle, fashion and picture editors and the concept and designing of pages including the marking-up and approving of proofs all within tight deadlines.

It goes without saying I am proficient in Adobe CS and have a strong understanding of the print process due to the close working relationship with the repro house.

I make every effort not to compromise the creative content of the magazine but do also take into consideration and incorporate, the views of my editors and the magazine's market.
