About me

Hello my name is Scarlet,

I am currently freelancing at The Telegraph working across their weekend supplements, covering a range of subjects from Fashion, home and Kids products and clothing.

Previously I was freelancing at FST a publishing house that design for magazines such as Toni&Guy, Office, Urban Outfitters, Evans and Arcadia Group. I have worked on both Evans and Arcadia Magazine most recently, as a Junior Designer supporting the Art Director, Nieal Grewal. I worked up layouts and chose Images for magazine publications. All of their publications feature on following or implementing current trends into a way that appeals to their target markets.

Prior to this I have worked in a more web based context at SHOWstudio. This required image uploading and resizing for use on their website, whilst using the Admin Panel and adhering to the prescribed templates. I also focused on running their Facebook page and creating a content edit of their website and blog on this digital platform. I am extremely interested in working in a more web-based context, as it is such an expanding platform with so many possibilities.

I have a wide range of experience in layout and graphic design for magazines, and have also worked at ELLE Collections Magazine and on Varying ELLE Supplements under the guidance of Lewis Cham. This also required an element of production in terms of liaising with Reprographics, Photographers and also communicating and reporting to Art Directors and Editors. Another key part of this role was to make sure that files were up to date and all images where at the correct resolution for printed use.

In addition to this, for the last 2 seasons I have produced Rokit's (Vintage Clothing) Look Books, where I took on the role of Stylist and Art Director. This included commissioning photographers, hair, make up and models to produce the final outcome. I was also responsible for all of the graphic design and layout of the book. I am currently styling and designing their A/W Look book.

I have a full understanding of CS5 Adobe Programs and Final Cut pro editing software. I am fascinated by the new ways to showcase work on a digital platform and would love to work on both a print and online web based context. I am a hardworking and organised individual looking to work in a fast paced and challenging environment with a great team of people.
