About me
I'm a self-employed artist & illustrator based in Manchester, UK. I have a degree in Art History from the University of Manchester (I graduated in 2015 with a 2.1) which gave me a great understanding of the development of art styles and movements across the past several hundred years. In terms of practical art & illustration, however, I am self-taught and continue to hone and develop my style through working on my diverse portfolio.
I work on paper, and most of my work is mixed media - a combination of acrylic, watercolour, pencil and fineliner. That being said, I'm constantly looking for new techniques and mediums to try out, so my skill set is always expanding! My work is quite traditional in the sense that it's designed and hand-painted by myself. Once my work is completed, if I'm happy with the finished piece I scan a copy using an HP Inkjet Scanner/Printer - this produces high-quality, clear scans of my work which I'm then able to upload to my website, send to clients or use to make digital and physical prints.
I'm confident creating work that's black and white, colour, or somewhere in between - I usually judge which aesthetic would be best depending on the subject matter I'm painting.
Over the summer I delved into the practice of botanical illustration, (as the trend for house plants and cacti seemed to blow up on social media) which I thoroughly enjoyed. This project allowed me to practice using acrylic paints for detailed leaves and branches. Since then I've expanded into narrative animal illustrations, illustrations of women, star-scapes and small landscapes.
With this in mind, I believe my work would be a great fit with an employer looking to recruit an illustrator or surface pattern artist. I work quickly and efficiently to produce really original work, and as I mentioned earlier, I own a scanner so work can be sent off with ease.

I work on a freelance basis, and am very comfortable managing my own work and meeting tight deadlines. I'm always on the lookout for interesting collaborations and projects that will allow me to work to the best of my abilities.
