About me

Graphic design is not only a job but a passion to me, which I use to create new ideas and concepts. I have learned a great deal from Studying at the University of Chester, both technical and creative. In relation to the technical side, I have become proficient in the Adobe suite, being able to create designs with ease using the required software. What I feel is most important, however, is how the university has opened my imagination, and I'm able to channel that imagination into a piece of work that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. During my final year I entered many design competitions which had strict deadlines. Working under pressure is no longer something I fear, but something I thrive on, which drives me to produce designs to the best of my ability. I also entered several group projects, from this I learned how to work effectively in a group, not only contributing my own ideas, but listening carefully to others and finding solutions specific to the brief with a creative flair.

I have worked in the Graphic Design Company Reckless New Media. From this have learned how a professional design studio works and operates, ensuring all work is print friendly, how to work to a budget, and dealing with clients. Therefore I believe I would be good at this position as I would be able to produce designs to a high standard, and be able to navigate my way around the software with ease. At Reckless, communication with clients was often done via email, and therefore I have a complete understanding of how to communicate ideas in an email format.

At present i am working at two design studios. The first is called Nailed it Design, here I work as the main Graphic Designer for the company. Its a small company which focuses on Web design, I create the web layouts and Logos to pass to the developer for the websites. The other company i work at is called Globe Print, this is a print studio in which I work as an Artworker recreating designs, and making work print ready. From these two positions i feel that I have strong knowledge of how to create a design form initial draft to print, and a solid understanding of industry practice.
