Dear Sir/Madam,

I am contacting you to show my interest in applying for the position of a creative artworker, after seeing the vacancy advertised on Creativepool.

Having worked in the publishing industry for over four years,

I have developed a wide range of transferable skills that would

meet your expectations for the advertised role.

Since graduating with a 2:1 honours degree in graphic design, I have been working as a graphic designer for Hubert Burda Media.

Within this company I have predominantly been designing for a real-life women's weekly magazine. I occasionally design on a magazine which is published monthly. This has given me experience of working to different time-scales, proving I am able to meet deadlines and keep to an ordered system, often having to work on multiple publications at the same time.

At times when the senior designer is absent I have had the responsibility of designing the front covers for the magazine, whilst also over looking all the pages to ensure everything is correct before going to print. This means I have had to ensure I always have a keen eye for detail, particularly with photographs and typography. I have also had to be responsible for all my own artworking.

I have a small amount of knowledge in web design (HTML) as I recently attended an evening course to learn the basics of the medium, making me a willing candidate to contribute in the digital side of. It would be great to take my learning within this subject further with you, in order to grow and improve.

With strong interests in all aspects of design, I am now keen to gain new experiences and take the next step within

my career, and would love to be able to apply the skills I have learnt, whilst acquiring news ones within your company. I believe myself to be an enthusiastic and versatile individual, who would thrive working in the creative atmosphere that a company such as yourself has to offer.

I have recently been made redundant, so I am now available for an immediate start. I am also looking to relocate to London, should I gain the position.
