About me

My various work experiences have enabled me to communicate with customers, colleagues and children. With the Orange Tree Theatre I helped to arrange a Shakespeare Workshop tour of the surrounding secondary schools, and worked as an usherette. I relished the experience because I gained insight into theatre production in a comfortable, intimate environment. During my time at Archway, I worked at Marymount International School in Kingston, Kingston University, Dynorod in Surbiton and for Kingston Council. My work at Marymount and Dynorod enabled me to become a competent receptionist, while Zenith Windows gave me the difficult challenge of persuading potential customers on the telephone. Bar 163, Que Pasa and my work for Absolute Hospitality were complete contrasts to my previous employment. I had to serve customers their drinks and food, clean, handle money, deal with sometimes difficult clients and their complaints and learn how to make cocktails and coffees with a certain technique. Although my time working for *, it consolidated my determination to write reviews and articles on the arts, culture and travel. For the website, my articles focused on London nightlife and travel. I put total effort into each piece of writing, and my reward was a sense of achievement upon their completion.
