About me

Trained as a 3D Multidisciplinary Designer, with eight years professional experience my design ethos is collaborative, working closely with clients, and user groups, to meet their needs and develop innovative and cost effective design solutions. I have spent the past four years working as a Senior Interior Designer / Team Leader for clients predominantly in the commercial / public sector. Prior to this I was heavily involved in retail, hotel and residential design.

Preferably seeking a client facing role, my main responsibilities as a design team leader included :-

- Management, development and briefing of design team

- Job running, client presentations, pitching

- Fee proposals and invoicing

- Conceptual design, space planing and detailing

- Detail drawing packages for tender and construction

- Report writing, feasibility studies, project programming and costings

- Marketing

Skills also include graphics and branding with experience designing corporate ID, P.O.S, instore fixturing and bespoke furniture. Other interests include fashion and illustration.Having recently run the Interior Design department for Ingleton Wood (*/), a multi-disciplinary building consultancy, I also have experience in team management and bidding for and running accounts. Due to the diversity of workload the value of projects could vary greatly, generally ranging between 500k - 5m with a number of low value interior styling projects ( k).

My largest healthcare projects during this time include the newly opened Hammerton Court Dementia care hospital in Norwich (*-) and Wolfson House, a low secure rehabilitation unit, inpatient ward in north London (*/).

As the head of the department this role involved a great element of marketing, pitching and competitive tender submissions. Further to this I was nominated the London marketing rep meaning that I attended and contributed to monthly forums for the discussion and development of strategies for the generation of future workload, brand awareness and web and media presence.

Throughout my four years at Ingleton Wood I competitively won accounts with clients across all sectors in a bid to develop the interiors portfolio and breadth of experience of the company. Many of these commissions lead to repeat work, the most notable of these being with Caring Homes, Indigo Properties and Faraday Property management in addition to the BT account. Further to this my team and myself developed a strong portfolio in design for dementia, which resulted in wining commissions with both the East London NHS Foundation Trust and Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust.

Being based across 5 offices throughout East Anglia my role involved a lot of commuting and working with the various disciplines of the industry including architects, building services engineers, building surveyors and planning officers. Further to this Ingleton Wood work heavily in sustainable design so the majority of my schemes worked toward achieving BREEAM ratings.

Having left Ingleton Wood in July 2011 I am currently overseeing the roll out of mod stores for BHS and conceptual designs for other Arcadia Brands, particularly Topshop, working in-house for Arcadia.Past clients include John Lewis, Selfridges, Lush restaurants, Fuchsia Rooms (boutique hotel), Cambian Group, Caring Homes, East London NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health Trust, Westminster City Council, BT and many more.
