About me

Since a young child I have wanted to be involved in Art and Design and this has developed into becoming a student Graphic Designer.

In my work I am always looking to improve even after the project is finished. I am committed in anything I do and motivate myself to do everything I can at 100% of my ability.

I have recently completed my second year as an undergraduate studying a BA (Hons) in Communication Design- Graphic Design and am taking time off from my studies to gain some experience before I finish my studies.

I have a willingness to learn more about a design industry outside of education using the skills learnt throughout my education.

As a designer, I find different inspirations in each of the projects. Some of which I have repeatedly used are trends, upcoming and current, and environment, recycling and being environmentally friendly. My strengths in Graphic Design are the layout and colour to make it stand out and easy to read/see and using the best typography. Making the overall design clear.

Although living in the North East I have family living in the West Yorkshire with the opportunity to live with them.

Skills

I have spent the past 4 years learning Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator through technical projects and then using these in Briefs through college and university work and developing them more in private studies. Throughout my education I have worked with both Mac's and PC., During my college time I learnt Quark express to which I have some skills in., In the past 2 years during university I have learnt Adobe Indesign, Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash again through Technical projects and in Brief set by the university and working in private studies to find out more about the software along with Photoshop and Illustrator., I have knowledge and skills in Microsoft programmes Word, Excel and Powerpoint., I have some knowledge of print finishes since printing various formats for my University projects. , For many years I have created Handmade cards and sold them at craft fairs.

Throughout my education I have done numerous live briefs with Lloyds TSB and Black Cats Fireworks., I have also Freelance experience in which I am always looking at expanding from 2011. (client list below)
