About me

Recently employed as a Textile Designer, specialising in fabrics for designer level evening wear and bridal wear. I have maintained a high level of professionalism as a Junior Designer. Whilst working for the company I have introduced new areas, including hand woven fabrics for prêt-a-porter, along with interior window dressing textiles, maximising the range of fabrics available to the customer. I recently became involved in the development of a lingerie collection, as a new venture for the business. This included sourcing suppliers, creating design ideas, and having samples produced. I was also solely responsible for compiling a new range of trims most suitable for use on bridal, nightwear and lingerie garments.

With my keen attention to detail, and a good eye for colour, I made an immediate impact in my most recent place of work, focusing on weaves, embroideries, prints, knits and trims, for Autumn/Winter 06/07 and Spring/Summer 07.

I have been involved in all aspects of the textile industry, from sourcing components, attending overseas trips to meet with suppliers, and participating in textile trade fairs, such as Premier Vision, Indigo, and Texworld, enabling me to gain first rate knowledge of the textile and fashion market.
