About me

The website *: surface pattern, simple web design and layout strengths. A DVD portfolio available on request shows a wide diversity of other creative skills including drawing, printmaking, photography, stop-motion animation, model making, sculpture and textiles. Favorite software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Director & Dreamweaver. I also know Premiere, Cool-edit, Quark and am currently improving my skills with InDesign.

As a compulsively creative individual with recently acquired digital skills I am eager to find a way to employ this energy in a in a more commercial environment, one that would make use of my experience in education and my own interests too. My dream job would be book illustration for a publisher of educational materials, especially concerning practical subjects.

I like long involved projects and recently spent 2 months in Malawi designing posters to teach permaculture, on a voluntary basis. That's how I know, despite un-conventional experience and training, that this is the kind of work I really want to do. Ideally I would like to work at home, where I am well equipped, but I would be happy to travel some distance for consultation and team meetings, and would love to consider another African project, or a French one as well but more generally I am looking to work in graphic design, educational or craft resources or information design fields. I enjoy editing & layout, working with other peoples' materials as well as on original & unusual projects either alone or as part of a team.
