About me

Hi, I am Sara, a freelance illustrator and designer living in a beautiful valley of the Italian Alps. I create educational and entertaining artwork for printed publications and digital projects for people of a wide age range. My clients are publishers, institutions, NGOs, and commercial clients based in Italy and worldwide.

Since childhood, drawing has been my favorite tool to explore emotions and live imaginary stories. I started by drawing comic strips depicting my schoolmates as colorful humanized animals having wild adventures.

I studied Graphic Arts at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Torino and Children's Book Illustration at the European Institute of Design in the same city. While finishing my studies in 2009, I published my first illustrations in a medical publication and a calendar for a local naturalistic park. During my career, I explored different projects and styles, creating engaging, detailed, dynamic pictures where observers can glimpse a story and connect with their emotional, empathetic side.

I have created vector art of varied complexity for my digital projects and educational work. I used a detailed painted style mixing handmade and digital painting for fiction covers, naturalistic pieces, and animals. I also made variations of line art, such as black and white or digitally colored illustrations, for conceptual images, textbooks, or kid's printed games.
Besides drawing, I adore hiking in the nearby mountains and cultivating our family vegetable garden. I am particularly interested in environmental problems. In the last few years, I have participated as an activist and art material creator in events of environmentalist groups near me.
