About me
To Creative Director,
My name is Sara Ahmed, and I recently graduated with a First Class Honours, BA Graphic Design degree at Middlesex University and also participated in this years D&AD New Bloods festival. I would like to take the opportunity to be considered for the role of a Junior Designer by attaching my CV for your review. Please consider my application for this excellent position, so that I am able to develop my existing knowledge and skills to progress my career as a Motion Graphics Designer.
Obtaining a degree in Graphic Design has enabled me to develop projects from inception through to production and final delivery as I now possess a highly diversified portfolio, which demonstrates my wider skill set including, typography, layouts, motion graphics and illustrations. I expanded my portfolio in more creative ways by producing a project that involved interactive letters. For instance, when a user clicked a letter on the keypad the letter appeared full screen whilst the design and the shape of the letter reacted to the users sound. This enabled my design to be more engaging for the user's experience. My design was successful and I received great feedback from my tutors, industry experts and the general public.
My experiences and education speak highly of my design skills and creativity to solve complex design challenges and showcase my ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation. For instance, As part of the YCN project to expand Brent Cross Shopping centre working as part of a team, I was selected to create a presentation to share useful, engaging and attractive ideas for entertainment, food and drink in modern shopping centres. I was able to work effectively in my team, develop important interpersonal awareness and useful verbal and written communication skills when I presented my ideas to the management team. Moreover, I was also selected to work as part of a team to create a website to show case the work of all the graduates of the Art and Design department at Middlesex University. I created the animations using Adobe After Effects and I coded the website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Over the past few years I have thoroughly enjoyed completing my BA at Middlesex University as it allowed me to develop my design skills. I would love the opportunity to be able to utilise my skills in my next role.
