About me

Currently, I am web editor for the Kensington & Chelsea review magazine, which is a monthly lifestyle glossy. However, whilst I work on the website weekly, I am freelance and can work around my own hours, since I have remote access to the website. I manage the web presence on a weekly basis and edit work of contributors as well as my own, working with Drupal cms, and editing images with Photoshop, and write features across fashion, arts, food and drink and travel for the monthly print magazine. My last contract was as a communications editor for a Housing Trust, where I was responsible to the Head of Communications. I worked across offline and online comms to include copy for training guides, posters, health and safetly leaflets, and tenants handbooks.

As an NUJ-trained journalist, experienced to editorship level, my experience is largely across online. With web management experience across consumer lifestyle newsdesk, consumer publishing and as a global business news editor, I have good web writing, editing, and time-management skills. I have relevant experience working as the web editor for a legal publishing company, where I applied a combination of marketing and editorial to market books across the e-commerce site and partner channel MSN. This involved liaising with the book editor over forward planning for titles, authors and writing authors' bios and product content across the site using red-dot cms. I also wrote feature content to draw interest to relevance of products which were 'how-to' legal books, guides and information packs on popular topics such as buying property abroad, buy-to-let and starting your own business.

As b2b news editor across a subscription trade finance news provider, I was responsible for sourcing, editing and creating the daily news agenda, and producing a weekly news bulletin sent out to subscribers. I also managed a monthly commissioning schedule of experts in the legal, consultancy and asset-based finance arena. I developed a good network of contacts across the asset-based finance industry, regularly networking at events and conferences, where cementing industry relationships was crucial to getting breaking news stories. I got to grips with an industry, which I previously had no experience or knowledge in, and since then also went on to be published as a freelance across private finance. I believe I have the intelligence and drive to make it my business what is going on in the industry I am working in, and apply good research and communication skills to get to know the topics that shape the agenda.
As an in-house marketing executive/pr, I have experience creating customer focused communications material for top Knightsbridge restaurant Shezan, and fashion brand ccdk. I have used my copywriting skills to create themes for copy and design for print brochures, produce customer newsletters and update web content and devise co-branding initiatives with related brands to offer seasonal promotions and incentives. I can multi -task across varied media, to ensure brand consistency across brochures, email marketing, and producing pos literature, to budget and production schedule coupled with good creative campaign ideas and time-management in execution.

Other experience as a freelance digital copywriter has included working with agency Vivid London to create content for an online search portal, with corporate and ethical responsibility as a motivation behind it and e-commerce experience as a content manager working across wire frameworks to produce and edit digital content for Dsgi group. This involved working with keyword content, producing marketing taster content across film, audio books, and music across the download portal, and liaising with multi media content 3rd party partners for stats for production of bestseller lists/top downloads, and repurposing content according to style guidelines. I have good time-management skills and creativity in producing headlines, slogans and developing content around themes for corporate and merchandising materials. I have good contact -building skills, along with an eye for detail, with the ability to adapt my writing style to brand and style guidelines.
